It's come to my attention recently that there have been some problems with unauthorized individuals accessing our guild Teamspeak. As many of you know, this issue has already come up once before and prompted a changing of the password so I'm posting this to set a few things straight for those who are in any way confused.
The Teamspeak server is for guild use only. At times, people from outside the guild have been allowed to use it but this has ALWAYS been at the discretion of the IC and the persons mentioned have been either trusted former members of the guild, trusted friends of the guild or (more recently) individuals from CA member guilds. The ONLY people who have the authority to ok a non-guild member using the Teamspeak server are of the rank Raid Leader, Inner Circle and Guild Master, no matter who the individual/s in question is/are. Anyone who is not a guild member may only be authorized to use our TS in a group or raid setting and once the event is over must be asked (politely if you will please) to leave the TS. They are not permitted to come on simply to chat with a buddy, find a public server for tht. This is non-negotiable and henceforth ignorance is not an excuse, offending individuals will be dealt with.
Furthermore, in regards to creating a private protected channel in the TS, that will stop immediately. If you want to create a channel in the TS for a group you are running that's fine but from now on, making that channel password protected is expressly prohibited unless you are of the rank of Raid Leader, Inner Circle or Guild Master. Password protected channels are only to be used if there is sensitive or private business that officers/raid leaders may need to take care of. Any non-officer/non-raid leader found to be creating password protected channels will be dealt with. Futhermore, officers and raid leaders should be aware that password protected channels are ONLY for taking care of guild business, rank does not protect you from being barred from creating protected channels to simply chit-chat with a pal.
If we have to change the password again to enforce this, then so be it. Also from now on, anyone in the guild who requests the password will recieve it in whisper, not guild chat. Once you have been given the TS information, please write it down somewhere safe so you can reference it in the future if you choose not to save the information to your TS.
Anyone who ignores these rules and abuses the TS server will be banned from using TS for a specified time period and/or asked to leave the guild if they continue to be a problem. I don't like coming out and saying this but it is becoming a problem again and I'm not going to have it. What's happened in the past with TS is now in the past but from now on you WILL adhere to these rules. Period.
